Novel Low-Loss Low-Noise Dielectric for Superconducting Microwave Devices

Status: Completed

Start Date: 2023-10-01

End Date: 2024-09-30

Description:

The goal is to improve dielectric noise/loss in existing MKIDs (microwave kinetic inductance detectors) and superconducting parametric amplifiers by using Boron as a novel low-loss, low-noise dielectric layer.

Benefits:

The novel dielectric development has the potential to lead to ground-breaking improvements in superconducting detectors and quantum computers
