ICE CHILL is a battery pack and battery management system that can survive the extreme cold of the lunar night without heaters, using a special hibernation mode and cryo-tolerant electronics. This low-cost, lightweight technology could more than double mission lifetimes for lunar landers and rovers, supporting longer and more ambitious exploration and science.
